Diet a word I H-ate

I always get people coming up to me and asking about diet, or telling me how they've been on a diet, diets and none of them work. “I was on the egg plant diet and put on 6 pounds”. And on and on. Well wake up, everyone is on a diet, a diet is just eating whatever you eat that's your diet.

People are talking about a calorie restricted diet, and OK they will work for a short time, but it doesn't take long before the pounds stop coming off, give it a few weeks and the scale will start to stay in the same place. Your body is a very clever machine and once it notices that there fewer calories about then it starts to adapt, and that's when the pounds stop coming off, then what do you do, you eat less again, what does the body do, it adapts and so on and so on.

If you haven't learnt by now, Diets Don't Work. How many diets do you have to through, yo-yoing your way through the current fad diet and then the next and the next. They don't work, no matter what the book cover says, going on a diet will only work for so long.

So mister know it all what's the secret to weight loss, and keeping it off. Simple in one word, lifestyle. Diets tend to be a temporary solution to along term problem, they are difficult to follow and boring, meaning you have to cook two meals, one for everyone else and your diet meal.

So don't think about diet when it comes to weight loss, think lifestyle and about what you have to change in your life to make the body you want the body you will have.
